Today, I'd like to dive into wisdom.
Wisdom is defined as the soundness of action or decision with regard to the application of experience, knowledge, and good judgement.
More specifically, wisdom is:
Not putting a tomato into a fruit salad.
Refraining from trying to light the hydrogen atoms in water on fire.
Realizing the capital of Nebraska didn't sign the Emancipation Proclamation.
Recognizing the moon is much larger than how it appears.
Sometimes we describe someone with a lot of wisdom as smart, though I would disagree. Wisdom usually involves more experimentation to obtain. I like to use the following quote:
Wisdom comes from good decisions.
Good decisions come from experience.
Experience comes from bad decisions.
Through the iterative process of making decisions, right or wrong, analyzing the results, then using that experience to inform future decisions more directly leads to wisdom. It must be lived to obtain.
Let's endeavor to live in a way to gather as much wisdom as we can!
