Stepping Into a New Year


Today, we prepare to ring in a brand new year while putting the past one behind us.


I mentioned before about resolutions going into the new year. Today, I'd like to reinforce the encouragement of sticking with your new goals. I suggest writing down not just the resolution, but the goal or reason you are doing them. Take whatever you wrote it down on and place it somewhere at eye level that you look each and every day.


This will help you keep the reasons or goals you are striving for with your resolution in mind. The more visible it is, the harder it is to "forget" about it during the day. In addition, putting the bigger reason down can help you remember who you are working toward becoming instead of just trying to accomplish a task.


Perhaps that should be a new way to frame your resolutions. Not as a task to generically "eat healthier" or "exercise more," but as a reinforcement of the person you truly want to be in 2022 and beyond. Who do you want to be?
